Crocheting Plastic Bags into Reusable Totes

Each year, trillions of plastic bags are manufactured and later dumped into landfills and oceans worldwide. While many countries have banned plastic bags and other single use plastics, the US is still lagging in it's efforts to ban or even reduce these harmful materials. SO, I am teaching two workshops this month as part of Common Folk's "March Mini Courses" on how to turn those evil single-use plastic bags into reusable totes and other vessels!

Topics we will cover:
-How to make "plarn" (plastic yarn) using the ENTIRE plastic bag
-Other single-use materials that can be used (bottle caps, plastic bottles, cans, aluminum can pull tabs, etc)

Please note this is NOT a workshop on how to crochet. Please come knowing how to crochet (or even just finger knit!) and bring any plastic bags and bottle caps you may have. I will have a couple crochet hooks on me, and Common Folk has a couple, but if you have your own I encourage you to please bring it! Each workshop will be about 30 minutes.

Tuesday, March 10th @ 2pm

Saturday, March 14th @ 7pm

Address: 73 Main Street, North Adams MA

This project is very near and dear to my heart and it has never been more important to cut down and eliminate single-use products in our daily lives. Come learn how to reduce and reuse in a crafty and purposeful way!
